Yes, I’m a Donor!
Jul 02
Just 5 words.
But maybe the most important 5 words you could end up uttering during your entire life..
Yesterday evening I was lying on the sofa watching an ad for SwissTransplant which reminded me that I still hadn’t got a donor’s card, nor informed my family about my long-standing decision.
And what if.. what if I was to lie on a stretcher within the next 24 hours, in a terminal condition? What if my organs could have saved someone else’s life if I had bothered to relieve my loved-ones of the decision while I was alive?
Morbid thoughts? Not really: mearly practical. Thousands of people die every day while waiting for a transplantation; and thousands of healthy organs get buried or cremated which could have been used to save lives.
There are various ways of declaring your intentions, the most usual being a donor’s card which you carry in your wallet. Maybe fellow bloggers could also post the following image on their site:
Anything is better than procrastinating.
So think about it now. Inform your family and act, today!

Yes, I and hubby hold a card too! My FIL had a hearttransplant and it gave him almost ten more years of live, for which I am very grateful so he could meet all his grandchildren ,sadly he passed away last August, but I have seen with my very own eyes how much good this can do!
I hope that I never have to experience “that” day of you having to donate your organs. I am proud of you! Even though I strongly believe, that some hanging bits and pieces of your masculin body, any donee would refuse receiving. Always lova u
Ha! I’ll have you know that I have already been approached to consider becoming a “Live Donor” for some of those masculin “bits and pieces”.
People are literally banging down the door!
imagine that poor guy that receives one of your organs ….
Ha! You’re just jealous!
And BTW: greetings to Ernesto!
