I have rarely enjoyed a movie so much during the last couple of months. Although dealing with a couple of painful subjects (CTOs, lay-offs, family vs. self-autonomy), it was truely enjoyable and is high-recommendable!

Prison Break: The Final Break (2009) (V)
5/10
If you were a Prison Break fan then just forget this "movie" which is just a a collection of two episodes that ended on the cutting room floor..

Thank god I wasn't expecting too much: I wasn't disappointed! ;-)

2012 (2009/I)
8/10
Brilliant! A typically invincible hollywoodian hero, but a definite must-see all the same.

Riveting from start to finish! Too bad we've now cancelled Sarah's trip to Paris.. ;-)

Oh how this movie could have been great without "The Whisperers"!

Slumdog Millionaire (2008)

Totally lived up to its expectations. Powerful stuff even if the end was a bit naff.

Mamma Mia! (2008)
7/10
I feared a bomb, but it was quite enjoyable. Apart from Pierce Brosnan's singing, that is.. ;-)

Thank god Disney didn't get their hands on this one! Not bad at all!

Religulous (2008)
7/10
Oh-oh: I really enjoyed this one. We represent 16 f the god-fearing American nation? Where's our lobby?

Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008)
7/10
Hmm: finally managed to watch this one without being interrupted by Russian dialog. The kids (well, at least one of them) enjoyed the "penis" scenes" and I was (yet again) left waiting for a twist in the plot. Definitely worth seeing for Russel Brand fans.

Snow Cake (2006)
6/10
It's not often that I grossly disagree with the overall IMDB rating; but this was one of these movies: 7.6/10? Just because Sigourney Weaver had a challenging role and Alan Rickman showed feelings? Nah!

Interview (2007/I)
7/10
Surprising! Very enjoyable, especially now that I know what the fuss around Sienna Miller is all about.

In the Valley of Elah (2007)
6/10
I waited for 90 minutes for something spectacular to happen, a twist which could have given some sense to this movie. None did. Pity..

In Bruges (2008)
8/10
Dry humour, extremely well written. superb acting and the location, of course.

A tragic subject portrayed by superb acting, but somehow too linear.

A Simple Plan (1998)
7/10
Despite suspecting what the outcome will be, you still cringe when it happens. A good movie!

Over Her Dead Body (2008)
4/10
I can't help comparing any movie starring Eva Longoria with Desperate Housewives (which DBW tells me is actually pretty good :-) ).

If it had been British comedy, it could have been great. It wasn't.

Into the Wild (2007)
7/10
A movie about a self-centered immature young guy who thinks he can find the truth by escaping the real world and the people who care for him. As he finally realizes: "Happiness (is) only real when shared"

Not up to the usual British standards for romantic comedies, but highly watchable nonetheless.

Feast of Love (2007)
6/10
WARNING: chick flick! Unfortunately. I must be getting old: this movie, as its title suggested, was to be all about Love; but as Love=emotions and, for the most part, the various characters seemed to accept their fate without even raising their eyebrows: sorry, I'm too used to (and prefer) Italian emotivity!

I was expecting a lot from this movie. Maybe too much as there was not one single moment when I experienced the slightest emotion. Pity..

An absolutely perfect movie..for 12 year old girls and Dwayne Johnson fans. I have definitely grown out of Walt Disney productions!
