Have a Nice Day!

Jul 13

I know it’s mean, but I couldn’t help it..

To all of you who will be getting up tomorrow around 06:00 AM, who will stare out of the window at an unwelcoming rainy Monday morning before crawling towards the coffee machine, my thoughts will be with you!

I might even set the alarm so that I can raise a solidary eye and, just for a couple of seconds, actually share your pain.

Before turning over and falling back to sleep with a wide grin on my face.

Oh am I enjoying my holidays!

I HATE June!

Jul 12

I shouldn’t really…

  • DBW and myself were married in June 19 years ago.
  • Sarah was born in June 16 years ago.
  • Vicky was born in June 15 years ago.

Mostly June is a month to enjoy: nights are long, the air is warm, it’s time for BBQs..

  • June was also the month I was diagnosed with cancer.

And that was about it until this year.

  • When Vic had to undergo a (luckily harmless) breast biopsy.
  • When, after 22 years of leasing, we decided to pay the remaining CHF 10’000 in order to take over our current car. Harmless, you say? That was before I was phoned by the garage in regular intervals informing me about yet another component which needed replacing after 150’000 kms = CHF 3’800.
  • And then Sarah, dear Sarah who really “nearly” managed to qualify for high school: “nearly” meaning another CHF 22’000 to ensure that she really “does” the second time round.
  • Oh, and purchasing a Lenovo laptop for Sarah’s 16th lead to us being banned, swiss-wide, from a major store.

As of yesterday 18:30 we’re on holiday.

We had originally booked two weeks in Sardinia, but, to be honest, we are simply too knackered to even contemplate anything else than the sunny spot under our cherry tree.

Stay posted: I might endulge you with additional juicy details.

But maybe not.. ;-)
