Ever heard of Rogaska Slatina?

Neither had we until we booked a week of wellness in Slovenia. And why Slovenia may you ask?

Why not? The country is beautiful (very similar to Switzerland: rolling green hils dotted with geranium-clad chalets), was spared from the 3rd Balkan War, the people are friendly, the food sensational. Added to that €50 for an hour-long Ayurveda massage is pretty affordable, no?

Oh, and did I mention that we stayed in the Palace pictured above?

It’s been just a day since the FIFA World Cup final and cyberspace is already creatively reacting to Zidane’s headbutt..

So this year’s FIFA World Cup has came and gone.. And the winner is ITALY!

And as it happened to be, we were actually near Venice on the evening of the final which we watched on a plasma TV in a hotel lobby.

A pretty amazing experience, especially when your wife understands absolutely F.A. about football….

Imagine sitting there, surrounded by passionate tifosis, watching as Zidane walks up and scores a penalty, only to hear Pina jump up and yell “YEESSSSS!!”.

Darling: wrong team.. We (and everyone else around us) are backing the guys in BLUE!

Oh well: I guess I’ve got at least another 4 years to train her…
